If the wheel is intended originally for a 180, you can safely go 1 size smaller on the wheel. Much like if you have a 4.5" rim, I would think the widest you'd want is a 170.

Look somewhere on your wheel you'll see the numbers 4.50 or 5.00, to 5.50 stamped on your rim, which refers to the width. that will tell you the maximum size tire you can use.

stock size is 160 and i would probably stick with that, the bike was engineered to take that size tire.Going bigger or smaller can change how the bike feels and handles. That being said i dont know how noticeable this would be going up jsut to a 170

generally speaking, you can safely step up one tire size on most wheels. the turn in will be slower but shouldnt become unstable.
