thought i had her fixed - still dying on me
Looks like you are definitely running rich! The first thing I would look at is the air filter? Is it dirty? If it is, I would replace it and take a wire brush to those plugs. If the air cleaner is fine, then try to jet down 1 size on your main jet. See if that clears it up any. Has the bike been jetted previously, or are you on stock jetting with that slip on? That #2 plug is def fouled out! the tip of the electrode is covered completely!
chris, the air filter isnt filthy, i shook it out a few weeks ago. But a new one couldnt hurt. The plugs ill just get new ones, standard this time. The bike was rejetted when i got it when I had the carbs cleaned to accomodate for the higher levels of ethenol, so the mechanic said.
If not the air filter, what would cause me to run soo rich? How easy is it to adjust the a/f mixture?

Find what the stock jet sizes were, and put them in. Personally, I would stick with an OEM style paper air filter. Your mechanic should not have jetted to accomodate "more ethanol" unless you're running E85, in which case you are out of your mind.
I would put the stock jets back in that beast, have the carbs synced up, new plugs, air filter (paper) and I can all but guarantee you will be on one good runnin machine!

startup your bike and sit next to the carbs, listen and see if you can hear alot of air moving into the cylinders, maybe one of the rubber clamps that holds the carb to the head could be cracked.... thats what it sounds like to me brotha

ok, so here is what i found.
I was only able to do a compression test on #2 and #4. For the life of me I could not get it seated in #1 or #3. They read 140 and 125 respectively. This was done on a semi warm engine. I can keep it running long enough to bring it up to operating temperature. Right now its about 40 some odd degrees out.
In the process of trying to do the compression test I took off the air box to see if I could get a better angle at #1 and #3. I found that in the intake plenum that fuel was pooling on the butterfly valve on #2. When I open the valve up and close it with the throttle fuel would pool again. Also, there was fuel on the inside of the airbox around that plenum. On top of that I just noticed today, that fuel is spilling out of the outer air valve cleaner's drip hose when the bike is running.

This all leads me to believe that the float in #2 is stuck. I'm going to try and get the carbs off and clean them out with some compressed air and carb cleaner. In the process, I'll clean out the main and idle jets for good measure. Do the main/idle jets need to be adjusted once reinstalled? Or can I just screw them in good and tight?

good idea on cleaning the carbs. The main and idle jet are not adjustable. Just snug em up. Do not overtighten! Buy the stock size Jets and put them in while you are in there!! trust me!!! It will help your bike run wayyy better!
