Thinking about an F3

Thinking about an F3
Hi everyone, so I've been riding about a year now, with a doddery old (but still quite entertaining) CB450. Ever since taking a smooth, spirited, ride on my friend's CB1 the allure of the inline 4 has really taken ahold!
So from what I understand, and what people have told me already, an older F3 may be a good, and inexpensive, upgrade - certainly to at least try it and see if I4 is the way to go. An SV is the glaringly obvious alternate choice, one I've already ridden, and quite enjoy.
I commute during the week, hit up the local roads on the weekends, and I'm always up for a spirited tour over a few days.
What do you guys think? Would a '98 (or so) F3 work out? My CB is from '85, so really anything is an upgrade.

RE: Thinking about an F3
Being it's a Honda it would take some kind of super tank to take it out. And I think it's one of the most popular bikes to streetfighter/stunt which means you know it's strong. If done right I've always thought they looked good too. Sometimes even better than your newer ones because they look more muscular to me.
I will admit if I lived in the mountains with a lot of twisties. I'd probably go with the SV (I assume you mean Suzuki SV650/1000) because those are such great bikes for the mountains. Especially with the twins that help you shoot out of a corner.

I absolutely love my F3, a '98. While on a motorcycle vacation to Deals Gap I had the opportunity to ride my wifes '97 F3 through the Gap. After I got off, I said that I had to have one . A couple of months later I did. They're reliable, great looking, excellent handling and just a lot of fun. Since you've already got riding experience, I think the F3 would make and excellent upgrade. You won't be sorry.

The F3 is a great bike!! My first and current bike is the F3 and I've been loving it ever since. If you get one, you won't be disappointed. The F3 was produced from 95 to 98. There were some suttle changes done in the 97 & 98 models. Honda changed the rear ends and the tail light which I personally think look better.
