Default Is there a difference between the 1995-96 and the 97-99 f3 heads?

I am running a hondar f3 motor the minisprint car that I bought to race this season. Can someone tell me if there is any difference between the heads on a 95-96 and the 97-99 f3 motors? I know there were some changes on the bikes but not sure about the motors.. Thank you!

As far as I know the only changes from 95/96 to 97/98 are the seat and rear plastics the rest of the bike is the same. The engine should be the exact same

the engine has at the least a different cam or different cdi box, maybe even different timing, they upped it by five horse in 97

1997/98 models have Ram Air induction. I'm not certain about the exact mechanics of the system; but that is the major difference between the 95/96 and the 97/98 as far as I know.

That makes sense that it would be the difference between models and not model years. Learn something new every day here on the forum. Thanks.

From what I can tell the 97 just uses a different spring setup with less parts and longer uncompressed spring length, but I would be careful interchanging parts on one head to another.

Manual says:
"Install and tighten the cylinder head bolts in a crisscross pattern in 2-3 steps"

Usually, if there is not a sequence given, then you'd start from the inner most bolts working outward in succession. Spec is 35 lb-ft. for head bolts.
