Question Tail section fairing fit problems

Hello Everyone,

I recently bought a 1997 CBR600 F3 ( So I'm guessing I'm in the right place )
The bike runs great but it was once dumped and rebuilt.
I found used upper fairing parts to replace the broken-in-2 ones I have.
Now the last problem I'm having is the alignment/fit of the tail fairings.'
First off, I found that the previous owner installed the taillight upside-down. That wasn't going to help. Flipped back, it's a bit better but still not good enough. Strangely there's a homemade bracket holding onto the taillight bracket. I has a fender eliminator kit and I'm wondering if that is causing my problems. Are the tailsections the same from 95-96 to the 97-98's?

Thanks for any info

Gerald

Some pictures would be helpful. The tail changed on the f3 in 97. You can still put either tail on any year f3 but you will also need the tail light and tail light bracket as they are different too. The seat from the pre 97 bikes will fit on the 97+ tail it just looks a little funny. Im not sure if the 97+ seat will work on the pre 96 bikes. Your fender eliminator shouldnt be any problem but cant tell without seeing it.
Heres 96 bike with stock tail and light

And here with a 97 tail, light and bracket. I had not gotten the seat yet when I took this pic and was also missing the infamous 97 98 center tail fairing piece

Hope this helps
