Stock tire sizes

I tried searching but couldn't find the answer I was looking for. I just purchased a 96 F3 and the tires sizes on it are 120/70ZR17 and 170/70ZR17 Is this the factory tire sizes? My manual shows a 120/60ZR17 and a 160/60ZR17. I am going to replace the tires- front worn pretty good and would rather put what needs/belongs on there. If what is on there now seems to be the best size, I will stick with them. Thanks for your advance input.

What's on there isnt stock, and will affect your speedo and handling... The 180 is the max width for a rear tire on our bikes with our narrow rim .. I use it because its cheaper than a 160/170 if you want the look of a bigger rear tire the 170 is a good plus size.. Put it this way the wider the tire the less rubber contact to the ground being level because the wider the tire the more it rolls over.... basically the affect if you take a piece of paper and curl it over to meet a two givin points, then take a longer piece of paper and have it meet the same to points... Cut a long story short i ride with a 120/60zr17 front and a 180 55 17 rear The tires that are on there are too tall in my opinion
