Sprocket combinations
Hey Guys,
I have been thinking about doing the 520 conversion as my sprockets are starting to look a little sad. Now I understand that the standard setup is 15F and 43R and it seems as though the excepted change up is -1 up front and +2 in the rear. I went and checked my set up today and found that I have 16F and 46R so that is +1 up front and +3 in the rear? What would this done is anything?
and when I go the -1 and + 2 set up will this be better?
Come on all the sprocket boffins I am waiting to hear your thoughts.

Check this site out

When I look at this site going w/ 16/46 it looks like the same gearing ratio as stock 15/43. I'm not the " sprocket boffins " you're looking for but thought this site might help you out.

sorry to ask questions but what would the point in going +1 front +3 rear be as i cannot think there would be any acceleration or top speed gains as the ratio is exactly the same
basically changing up on front ads top speed but reduces accell
changing down on front ads more accell but reduces top speed
changinf up on rear ads more accell reduces top speed
changing down on rear ads more top speed reduces accell
so keeping the ratio the same seems pointless to me
oh and the front sprocket is smaller so changing that up and down has a larger change than changing the back sprocket
dont just take my word on it though as i could be wrong but i dont see how

say hello to dislocated shoulders
yes changing one down front and 2 up front will change it a hell of alot compared to how it is now it will pull your arms off whilst accelerating although the top speed will be lower i dont think it will be noticable unless doing well over speed limit or on track day
