Spark Plugs not firing

Spark Plugs not firing
I have a 95 600 F3 that I have had nothing but problems with. Just when I think I got it fixed, I ride it for about a week and I have another problem with it. I replaced the battery and charged it up. After a couple days of riding, it would only start by fully opening the throttle while holding the start button. Now it won't start at all and none of my plugs are firing. I checked the harness and re-spliced some wires, checked the resistance from the coils to the cdi and they checked good, and also tried another cdi. The fuses are good but the bike still won't start. Any ideas?

RE: Spark Plugs not firing
Where to start, unfortunately its an elimination process. When you say no spark I assume you have checked that out or are you just thinking thats the problem? The buggers have a common regulator problem, which basically means, when their fried, it just runs off the battery till it goes flat. Sometimes its hard to pinpoint the Reg, because often they don't show up as faulty (taking a reading) till their hot, which is wot causes them to carp it in 1st place. So charging up the battery & then firing the bike up, would be a good indicator if the bike starts up ok.
Only other thing that comes to mind is the Carbies, but their are quite a few things that can cause your symptoms. Good luck anyway.

By re-splicing wires, I mean I had to redo the connection where one wire meets another wire. I already replaced the regulator, the air filter is cleanand I tried new plugs. I also just had the carbs cleaned and re-jetted. I found a manual online that has troubleshooting tasks. I will follow that and let you know what I find.

RE: Spark Plugs not firing
I finally figured it out! It was a broken wire between the ignitioncoil and engine stop switch. Now the plugs are firing away! I am so glad I got this fixed. When I had the wire harness apart, I cleaned a lot of the contacts and did some wire maintenance so hopefully I can go for a while now without any problems. Maybe now this bike will be a good bike.
