Default Sometimes it is the little things

Since I have decided not to put my money into a down payment for a new bike, I have decided to fix the little things that have been really bugging me with my bike. For instance, my kick stand was worn out (years ago) and it was such a HUGE effort to get the thing down and up. I would have to kick it four or five times to get it to go up and down. Well, I broke down and spent the money for a new one... WOW!!!! It really makes the bike feel new!! One little tap of the foot and POW, it is in the up position and it's just as easy to put it down. I also decided to replace my worn out front rotors with new ones and again... WOW!!!! I really feel that I have gotten more for my money than had a put it into a new one. Anywho, just thought I would share my excitement of having a "new" bike without a payment.

My wifes kick stand was like that. If you put it down, you better look twice at it before getting off the bike, or it could be laying on her side. I didn't replace, but took it apart, cleaned and lubed the pivot bolt for the stand. It's like butter now. You're right, the little things can make a world of difference. I'm glad you're back in the groove with the bike again.

I thought having to balance the bike while jumping up to get enough force to lower the kickstand was normal. Like a throwback to the old kickstart models. Was forced to replace the kickstand since I raised the bike (someone thought bending is 25 degrees was the proper way to adjust it for lowering the bike).

I damn near fell over when the new kickstand slid up so easily I didn't realize it. The first real smile with the bike Raising the bike was the next one. Seeing her light up for the first time with the new LED kit. Replacing all the missing and mismatched screws with polished OEM spec fairing screws.

Greasing the oll kick stand wasn't working any more. It was metal on metal no matter how much grease I put in there. It was pretty much collecting dirt when I lubed it up. The side stand bracket was being ground away on both sides even with lube. So, for the last six years I have put up with kicking the stand in place. I gotta say, it feels good to hear the stand come up like it was a new bike.

I don't know what to say about raising a bike from the dead man. I read your thread and man... WOW!!!! I almost want to meet the individual who performed the "repair" on the bike before you got it. Keep up the good work. I checked out the video and it's lookin good!!!!
