the only thing going for it is that it's new -- you'd lose about 80% of that value the minute you ride it.

Sure would be nice to get a tight 98, but "Collectors Dream" ? More like "Sellers Dream"!
I have a friend who has a 98 Smokin Joe (albeit with more clicks) & I see a few of them around, so they are not that rare. If you where going to stick it in your lounge room or whatever & never ride it, maybe in about 10-15 years you may get offered some serious money. Still, its not bad money if you consider your getting your **** on a new F3 & knowing you could get another 15 years + of excellence owning it.

No, they arent that rare. But one in that condition is super rare. Wish I could buy it, but i cant afford it and even if i could i would deff ride it. The value would deff drop in half right away.

You think since it has been sitting for so many years, maybe the seals are dried up?

Probably has 99,999 + 1 miles on it and has been cleaned immaculately lol. He said he hadn't installed the decals on the left side yet....thought the decals came on it straight out of the crate.

possible, but unlikely. more likely some dealership had it in a crate in a storage unit and it got buried and for some reason was taken off inventory and eventually forgot about.

Pretty specific situation there your mentioning but I doubt that. Dealerships try not to store anything they dont have to!
