Default Smokin Joe Edition

I picked up a 98 600 F3 Smokin Joe Edition today. Awesome ride. Other than the color scheme, are there any other differences between the sje and the regular F3's? Was it a limited edition? How many did they make etc? Looking for as much info as I can get.

There should be a # on your bike, telling you which # of production it is, there was a limited amount of TRUE smokin joe's made, but there are a lot of knock-off's.

Aside from paint I have no idea if there's any performance attributes.

Mine was a smoking joe when it was new but has been painted since then. on honda's owners link this is what i could find.

New for 1996
Racing CBRs from Erion racing and the Smokin' Joe's team are the inspiration for the dramatic Red/White/Black and Pearl Yellow/Purple/White color finishes for the 1996 CBR600F3

there are no performance differences. It is just a paint job. as for parts Honda still makes the plastic for the 96 and 98 smokin joes. If you try to fix and paint yourself the paint is almost $500 a pint. Honda no longer makes the camel for the front fender.

After my buddy bought one i looked into them and read that there were 1500 smokin joes in 96 and 98 total, but i don't know the worthiness of the source.

I don't know who you're getting your paint from, but it's more like around $100 a pint. You can probably do your entire bike with a pint. This is the purple for the 1998 Smokin Joe's.
