Runs like poop
After my bike was crushed a few weeks back by my car port I decided to street fighter it. Now I have a new problem. Bike starts and idles great, but when I go out for a ride the trolls come out. Say ill be in 3rd or 4th just crusing, all of a sudden the bike acts like it out of gas. It starts to putt and stammer. Sounds like ****. If I give her some itll take a second or two but itll pick up and go. Now I dont know if this is due to the bike being tipped over for two days, or did I mess something up by removing my gauges and hiding my wiring harness? Gas is new and full, air filter is clean, plugs look good........

Have you driven it long enough to really heat up the engine? Mine was tipped over for about the same time at the end of last fall when I crashed it but after I got it back on the road last week she ran a little doggy on the first ride but now she runs fine. The only other thing that I can think of is that the air box may be ajar from the fall?
Air box is fine. Ive ridden it 3-4 times for several miles. I removed the air tubes from the ram duct to the box but I cant imagine thatll mess anything up.
I have the air solenoid and all the air lines hooked up, I still have the shorter lines running up the side of the bike too. I was informed that I have to ground the pink wire from the fuel pump now that I no longer have gauges.
There has to be another F3 owner that doesnt run gauges, throw some ideas at me. Bike still runs like **** and the only wire I could see thatcould need to be grounded is from the speedo to the air vent control relay... ideas?????
since it does run i would rule out the fuel pump not working.
i do know that the air solenoid opens up at 12mph, so its going to need the gauges to know when to open. Try bypassing the air solenoid and see how it does. I couild almost gaurantee that is whats wrong with it. All you have to do is run the two smaller diameter hoses that come out of the left and right side of the carbs into one hose and then up to one side of your ram-air box. Then run the larger diameter hose that comes out of the center of your carbs up to the other side of the ram-air box. Try that and let me know if it works or not.

glad you got it runnin right bro, you might as well just go ahead and bypass the air solenoid since it will be open all of the time now, there really is no use for it.... its just taking up space and adding weight. have fun man.
