Adjust your idle. You're just wasting fuel that way.

It depends if your bike is a Cali model or a 49 state model
Cali = 1400 + or - 100 rpm
49 = 1200 + or - 100 rpm

that means your carbs are not working properly. Do not unscrew it too much or the screw will fall out and youll have to take off the carbs to get it back in!

I just bought this bike, and the person I bought it from took the carbs apart and cleaned them. I have not done this yet, so how do I fix this problem?

lol... we all do stupid things. My favorite thing is when I fuel up and forget to put the fuel switch to on. Some time later as I am rolling down the road and my begins to sputter... yes... I am SOL. It's happened more than once but it's been a couple years since I've done that one.
