Angry rough day

Riding to work today when a lady pulls out in front of me without looking I was mid turn so when i tried to slow down I locked em up and low sided. My bike took a good 100 foot slide into a median and i got a good lesson on wearing proper gear as i did 50 feet of slidng and rolling. Unfortunately i was only wearing shorts a t-shirt and my helmet. it destroyed my backpack, ripped my shoe and shorts off torn up my shirt and got some great road rash. Thanks to some quick acting construction workers that blocked her in with cones and their trucks until police arrived I Got all her info and she got a citation. I'm guessing the bike is totaled since the whole right side needs to be replaced and its a 14 year old bike. But is it worth buying it back to fix and re-sell as a salvage title or maybe even part it out?

Here's some aftermath photos (click able thumbnails)

I think he means when the insurance pays him out as ride off.
Feel for you, you're going to be sore tomorrow, maybe they won't write it off & you may be able get it all fixed up, nice new can & mirrors, helmet.
Everything can be replaced, its just the insurance weighing up if its worth it.
Here, the ABS (original) fairings cost so much the insurance companies usually just hand you a cheque.

*** DUDE, I hope that ink aint scarred.

In the past ive bought a bike back for 100 that i bought for 900 and it was back on the road within a week, i had 800 quid in my pocket. I got paid out for the bike and gear.
Defo milk it as much as u can, if you can claim for the damage to your tattoo aswell its a bonus.

Anyways, stop limping and get the brews on laddio

I'm taking it to the stealership today. But when i was lookign for a bike i considered buying one without fairings and putting them on but they ran 3800 for the full set, so with the mirror, can and brake lever included i'm guessing around $1800-1900 which is 80% the value of the bike almost.

Pretty sore today, ribs and back feel bruised which i didn't notice yesterday. Got a check up tomorrow, we will see. Luckily my boss rides himself and has given me the opportunity to decide how much time i need off. =)
