This is no direct bolt in. I'm working on installing a 900rr 5.5" rear rim on my F3. The rim looks the same just wider. For it to fit, the crush hub has to be milled down. You have to remove alot of metal to get it to fit inside the swingarm first of all. Then you have to take more off so the sprockets lineup right.

I'll post up some pictures of the hub, before and after. I didn't use a lathe, just to prove that it can be done without one. I used only a drill press, milling vise, 1 milling bit (7/16), grinder with cutoff and flapper wheel.

Planning on making the axle spacers this weekend.

Ok since I'm getting PMs about the 900rr rear rim swap. I'm planning on finishing up the spacers this weekend. After that I post a complete write up. This is one of many things that is being done to the race F3 over the winter. Ground up complete rebuild including a complete engine rebuild and modifications.

Yes it will if you don't want the tire to have the correct curve profile.

Don't listen to montoney, it'll fit with lots of problems... that size tire is not meant on that rim, period; yes it'll fit, but it's not the same ride feel.

Here are some pics of the stock F3 and 900RR rear wheel side by side. The F3 was mounted up with the factory spacers. I put the 900RR rim on so I could take some measurements for spacers. You can even see that the rear caliper bracket isn't in the 900RR pics.

Before anyone says it. I know the 900RR tire is toast, just used for mock up. The tire on the F3 is a Bridgestone slick size 165.

It fits, looks and rides good to me. I'm not a pro racer so perfect curve isn't important to me. What size tire on that 900 wheel?
