Replaceing stator

Default Replaceing stator

I have a 98 f3 and my battery won't stay charged I runs great for a couple of hrs and then the battery is dead some ppl have told me it's the r/r or the stator maybe even the coil any help would be awesome

dout its the coil, but the rectifier and stator are prolly toast. not a bad job to replace either. check the wire harness running to your stator, all burnt up?

There's a higher probability that it's your Regulator/Rectifier rather than your Stator. The stator is basically just a coil of wire. Not too much to go wrong with it and easy to check with a meter. The R/R is small, it works hard converting AC to DC, generates lots of heat, it's poorly ventilated and regularly fails. My money is on that.
