Redlines in neutral but bogs after 8k [97 cbr 600f3]
I bought a 97 cbr 600 f3 several months ago that did not run.
I have gone through carbs and adjusted them as best I can with the knowledge I have found online and have gotten the bike to the point where it idles and starts perfectly and it is ridable. But it barely goes past 45 mph.
It redlines like a beast in neutral but I cannot get it past 8k in any gear once its moving. and everything past 1st feels boggy as hell.
Could it be fuel starvation still or pilot screw adjustment? Im at a loss and this is the first time I've come to forums for help.
This thing has been a PITA but luckily it actually runs, took a huge risk buying a non running bike.
Appreciate any and all suggestions. Thanks

It would be ideal if you had a way to measure the air fuel ratio coming off the exhaust. EGT would also tell you about the running condition. You're either not getting enough fuel or there is an improper ratio of A/F. The likely culprit is fuel because you can.....
Have you checked the cam timing?

I forgot to mention that it actually leaks out the overflow valves on the carbs while running. Could It be running too rich?
I have not checked cam timing. Would have to do some research to understand them.

The overflow valves on the carbs leak while it is running. Could it be running too rich? could bad float valves cause this?

This is one that makes me want to stop answering these help requests; I feel dumber for answering.
