I see you have since updated your signature, lol.

Hey man I'm not saying you're not right, I'm simply saying they're completely different applications. You're not talking nonsense to me, I aspire to do several trackdays this summer. I would really love to get into competitive racing, unfortunately the wallet isn't as enthusiastic. Racing is very bling, and I love that part of it.

However for the prupose of street riding, parrafin chain wax is both inexpensive and fully-functional. A $6 can will last you several riding seasons.

I am envious of your bikes, what class do you race in?

I did the same kind of research as you're doing now. Asking questions, weighing the pros and cons. Listening to various opinions, trying to separate fact from fiction. It's tough to decide. I wanted something easy to use, readily available, didn't come off all over my bike shortly after cleaning and lubing among other things. Check out this review by WebBikeWorld on Duponts Teflon Chain Lube. I've been using it now for about 1.5 years on 3 different bikes. I'm really like the way it performs. As for how often, just like the book says. Every 500 miles. I clean the chain every 3k to 4k miles. I clean the chain with Kerosene and let dry. Then a liberal application of the Teflon Chain Lube.

I still have my can of HP Chain Lube from 3 years ago.Prolly cost 8 bucks at the most? I started using HP back in 99,after going through several other brands. It works well,no complaints here.

I race WERA,V7mw & hw.Great people and great fun.Now the class is getting very competitive. Our motto is "Race on Sunday, work on Monday",meaning we don't go out and get stupid. If someone does,we straighten them out.

Spend your money on suspension.Makes the bike easier to ride, and makes it safer.Need set-up info, feel free to ask,my racebike is dialed in. Thermosman is the bomdiggityshizzlywhizzlenit yo.

I use the Repsol chain lube. That stuff works awesome. Thats even with me buyihng a new DID chain and not even bothering to clean the grease off and putting over 1500miles on it. Which I cleaned it now but the chain & Sprocket are both in good condition. And all I did was use the repsol spray.

I heard the wax is good to. I'll probably use that next time I clean my chain.

Just read that you think chain wax flings off/creates a mess.

With all due respect, your application of it must be wrong. Period. Full stop.

If not then I'm just an anomoly as I've had nothing but completely positive experiences with it. And I'm the type of guy to clean my bike before every ride so...

I used it once, didn't care for it.The flinging off bit was what I saw happen to others, not to mention their b*tching. The stuff I use goes on clear.I dig it
