Default Real newbie question... ;-)

My beautiful loving girlfriend bought me a 1995 CBR F3 last week (with her motor geek brother). As i have been looking to get into riding for about 2yrs & finally taking the MSF this weekend. My question is when i try to start it, it doesntturn overjust the gauge & head lights come on.I'm amissing something? She said it ran fine& fired right up on the 2nd try when they looked at it (sat for 2-3months). They picked it up 3 days later. I figure he really didnt have a chance to warm it up since she said it was over someone elses house being stored & was buried behind 2 other bikes with all kinds of gear on top of it. What i did notice was nuetral light wasn't litwhen i turn it on. I'm really new to bikes so ihope i'm not doing something right to get it started or did she get shafted [:@]

If it's not in neutral, it won't run with the sidestand down (safety feature), in fact I don't think it will even turn over. Some models won't start anyway if it's in gear, whether the clutch is in or not. The red Kill (Run) switch on the right switch module (above the starter button) needs to be in the On position. Hope this helps....Some others may have other thoughts, but look for the simple things first.

It'll start in gear, just make sure the clutch is pulled in all the way (should work as long as the switch for the clutch is connected and working). If I were you, i'd just get a battery tender and leave it hooked up until it's fully charged then try starting it.
