Default re-attaching throttle cable

I know this has been covered before..but I still need help. I'm putting my carbs back on my F3 and I have the cables hooked up, but can't get the cable to snap back. The carbs are out and the throttle is apart at the grip. Hooking it up wasn't bad, but it stays open when I twist the throttle. I'm not even 100% sure I have it routed the right way. The cables come off the carbs and go through the guide at the frame and around the fork tube. I've done this once before and although difficult..I didn't have this much trouble. Any advice?

thanks..

try increasing the freeplay, I wanted mine to have less freeplay cause I hate having that in my bike, but it made it close slow, loosen the freeplay up to a quarter inch or whatever the manual says and give it a try.

Thanks for the replies and pictures. I was putting the cables under the front brake hose, but once I fixed that..it still doesn't work. Not only does the throttle not snap back, it is pretty hard to turn and basically stays open. I took the cables off completely and I noticed when I go to move the throttle wheel on the carbs with my finger, it moves pretty hard and definitely doesn't snap back there either. Is this normal? I never really moved this wheel before so I'm not sure how it should act. I would expect it to move a little easier though.

On a side note...I'm putting the carbs back after replacing some o-rings at fuel joint pipe. I did take the carb connecting bolts out and took carb 1 away from 2 and 4 away from 3...just enough to change the o-rings. Could I have over tightened something?

I wonder if I tightened the carb connecting bolts too tight. When I loosen those up all the way the throttle mechanisms on the carbs seem to move somewhat easier.

With the cables off, loosen the connecting bolts and try the carb wheel again. If it snaps back, then it was just an alignment issue. Slowly tighten the connecting bolts, while keeping an eye out for the throttle wheel stiffening up.
