Another update.. I got everything trimmed up now

Got the tail pan mounted (well, in place at least) last night, as well as the tail light set in place. I have a lot of clean up work to do, and some more wiring to adapt the new light to the F3 connector, but it's coming along nicely..

Yes sir, I sure have.. If mine were held on by springs, I would have done it already, but I have been thinking about what to do with it. Should I go on the bottom under the peg, or high mount like everything I have previously owned ? (4 other sport bikes, all highmount Yoshimura's) I like the look of the high mount, but I LOVE my shorty can, what to do, what to do... I'm not sure how the high mount shorty would look, yours looks different because of the tail, so it's hard to say what it would look like when not tucked under the seat.

What do you guys think ?

Better yet, if you are good at plastic welding/repair I have a 98-99 R1 tail you can have. It has a crack in it though, right in the center between the upper and lower seat. It is a clean break, and fits together nicely, should be a real easy repair. If you want it, it's yours...

Just cover the shipping.. It should bolt up just as easy, all you would need is the undertail, and seats to finish it.
