Default Questions

Hey guys I have been looking for some information, I was seeing if you guys could help me. I have a 97 f3 and i wrecked it last oct. Well now i have made the choice to rebuild it as a street fighter style bike. Anyhow i was wondering what bikes can I pull forks/ triple trees off of without too many mods to make it work. Thanks for your help.

Default RE: Questions

F2, F3 will go right on. F4/F4i bolt on....I put some F4i forks on my track bike project, the steering stops need a little mod to limit the turning angle, and if you do that, you need to carry over all of it...clip ons, brakes, wheel, etc. The ram air intake also interfered with some knub on the bottom of the triple clamp.

F4 and F4i parts are no more expensive than F3 from what I see on ebay....in fact, f3 wheels are probably worth more than F4i.

Prices are also starting to recover from their mid winter slump, so get onit.

Honda 600's just about all use the same steering head bearings, so I would bet that you could put any set of forks on there from f2 to 600rr....even 900/929/954/1000rr/vtr1000 use the same bearings, but not sure if the stem is the same length....and the larger bikes probably have a wider fork, which might cause fitment issues similar to the F4i that I experienced. The different fork also have different trail numbers built into them....mixing geometery might cause you grief.
