Default project 96 f3

Well I did not see a project section. So I am going to start a build thread right here. I recently traded a 1992 v8 s10, for my 96 cbr f3. Now shes had a hard life. Shes been down a few times from what I can tell, and no one ever really repaired what they broke. When I got ahold of it it had 37304 miles on her. The rear brake pedel was gone, and thanks to a member of the forum I now have rear brakes back on. Someone had spray painted it black, right over the honda stickers. It is now in the middle of being prepped for paint. A couple peices of the body work are pretty rough, but I am going to shoot it anyways, and peice it back together as time goes with really nice body work. I still have a list of parts I need for it such as the upper right fairing(near the headlight) the "inspection covers" on the sides, and a front fender. I could also use the left side rear fairing. Here is a pic from when I bought the bike home. It is now almost entirley stripped of the black paint, minus the one upper fairing I need and the tank. I will update this thread as I go along. http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...0plan/BIKE.jpg

I love projects[sm=goodidea.gif]
I did one myself, when I bought mine it was a wreck (literally).
Friend of mine crashed it and he thought it was unsalvageable so he sold it to me :snicker:
Took some time and money, but I got there.
There are some pics at http://picasaweb.google.com/gunnar.sandnes/Honda
Unfortunately I have no pictures of how it is now, with new mirrors, windscreen and a hidden license plate (no more plastic tail).
My fairings are three piece fiberglass.

Be sure to update with pictures

Good luck to yah!

Man gunnar, your bike is beautiful. I love the rear tail. Do you have any pics of it painted from the rear with the two round taillights? I would not mind doing that with mine at all. I will definitly keep you guys updated. If anyone has any of the parts I am after, please let me know!

heres an update! Did some fiberglass work and some light bondo work, and some sanding. I noticed when I picked the bike up that it had an aftermarket timing chain tensioner. Can anyone fill me in on this? Is it manual or automatic? What needs to be done to keep an eye on it? Does anyone know what I can do to be able to post the pic and display it in the thread? I tried the IMG like i do on every other forum and it isnt working.

Thats an APE manual chain tensioner. Google it. They are all over the place, including directions.
