Please Help!!! CBR 600 F3

So I just recently bought a 96 cbr 600 f3 and have begun to get it road ready. I first started by pulling it apart and cleaning the carbs with my uncle. I cleaned out each carb and each jet within the carbs. The bike had been running rough before this and ran like a dream after. However, on the way home I ran out of gas and after that I have been having a reoccurring issue. It will start right up no problem and idle fine, but it will bog out when your get on the gas whether in gear or not. Then after revving it up high enough it came out of it and rode great for almost a whole tank of gas. Now that I am getting it low again, it bogs out just as much and will even die when riding. Looking inside the tank I can see a ton of red sediment and rust on the bottom.

My question is, will cleaning out the inside of the tank and replacing the fuel filter solve my issue?

Any suggestions are welcome, thank you.

Well for starters you wouldn't want that crap floating at the bottom of your tank regardless if the bike is running like crap, or as good as an off the showroom floor 2013 RR. So i would take care of that problem and see if that changes anything, and if not, dig deeper from there.

Yah that sounds like a plan but could that sediment have clogged up my fuel filter?

Its quite possible its clogged, you could always blow through it to check but remember gas is thicker than air so even if not clocked it could cause restriction in fuel delivery. A new one shouldnt cost to much so i would replace it anyways.

ok, I am planning on taking off the tank and cleaning out the inside with carb cleaner, then changing the fuel filter. Is there anything else I should check/do while I have the tank off?

Hi mate, might sound stupid but you are switching to reserve when your petrol/gas runs too low?
And yes you need that crap out of there!! and a new petrol/gas filter.also blow all the gas lines through with compressed air and sorry to say, I would strip and do a thorough clean of the carbs.
Ride safe,
Ant.

Ok, I was hoping to avoid doing the carbs again but I guess it would be better to just be safe.. It took me a while last time because I didn't know really where to start. Thanks for the help though...
