Bike looks good, even like the colour!! Yeah, they had a brown (maroon?) & black colour, plus the Red ,White & Blue. Mine's got 25000klms (or 15534.3 miles) thats 1726 miles per year. I don't ride as much these days, mainly due to, I know live further away from some decent bike rides, their here, just takes a bit longer to get to. I used to be 10 minutes from one of the best bike roads around, plus a really good bike stop, even the seats where made up from old bike forks (still with springs in em). Have to pull my finger out soon though & clock up some decent distances. No excuses really, just slack in my old age.
Only thing wrong with mine is the rust starting to get to the forks, but I chase that when I find it, and the odd stone chip. I'm up for a tinted screen, but I going to go for one thats lifts more on the the lip, get the wind over my helmet more (5',11inch) makes my perch over the bars a bit. Thats an interesting sized number plate, are the cops near sighted or something over there?. MickeyWiz, the only thing that you have respray is the tank, all the rest is stickers & polished ABS, any dings, just fill & buff.

That is a standard UK bike plate, a lot of people change them for smaller ones but I don't like to attract attention from the coppers. I am 6ft and am hoping the new screen will help a bit.

I'm in Enfield at the top of north London (geographically, that is!) just inside the M25 but selling up and moving east to Chelmsford later this year, hopefully. Means a longer distance commute to work in south London but only takes about 15 minutes longer, thanks to the time it takes at the moment to filtermy way down into the City of London and get across one of the bridges. It's commuting that racks up the miles, I've done nearly 8000 since January.

Pacemaker, they're getting stricter aboutnon-standard plate sizes and fontsas they can't be read properly by the ANPR and traffic enforcement cameras. My plate is smaller but it's legal as I only have a 6-digit reg and you can fit them all on at legal size and spacing. I agree, why give them an excuse?

Fill and buff would be good but I've never seen black filler over here. And yes, I did have to de-dent and respray bits of the tank when I bought it!

I can appreciate the commute, when I lived on the Central Coast (north of Sydney) I had a 80+ klm ride both ways. clocked up some serious miles, big reason I had some many bikes, bought a Beemer (twin) to keep the service costs down. Now I'm retired (mind you did that 9 years ago, same time I picked up the CBR) Check out the auto shops, there is a filler that I use that is actually black, only good for the small pings though. If I can find the tube, I'll let you know who makes it. beauty of it is, you can add your paint to the mix so it matches straight up.

Found a black filler in the local motor spares shop, says it's 'flexible'as it's actually intended for car bumpers. Worth a try.
