painting brakes

Autozone or any other car parts store will carry brake caliper paint. It has instructions on how to do it. Get a good wire brush and some mineral spirits and make sure they are spotless before painting, also only paint the outside, stay away from the actual calipers. It cost about $15 to paint all the calipers on the bike.

If you get them powder coated you should grab a caliper rebuild kit while your at it since the seals and everything will have to be removed anyways =)

i will go and see how much it cost to have them powder coated as there is a place that does that about 5 blocks from where i live. but how hard is it to rebuild the brakes tho

Its not a hard process at all- you could try to re-use the seals from the calipers if they are all in good condition. But personally I wouldn't. new kits will run 50-70 for all 3 calipers. here is a generic walk-thru on the process

Yes, that's why i suggested rebuilding them if they get powder coated- no use in taking them all apart and not cleaning/ rebuilding them.
