Post Operating Temperature

What temperatures do you guys usually run at during different ambient temperatures?

It's been about 65-80 degrees outside here the last few days, and while idling and going 0-25mph in traffic I'm at about 195-220deg (I have the F4i gauge temp reading). When I'm at 50mph+ it cools down to about 175.

I know the manual says the thermostat is fully open @203deg, according to my manual, but is running hotter than that a bad thing?

Thanks for any input.

Also my fan kicks on at 215 and then shuts off again after it cools down to 210. is that normal?

Does not sound to me (not an expert) like it is running too hot. I do know that my machine F3 without digital temp display starts getting on the hot side if I am idling in traffic or moving very slowly. The cooling system on sport bikes are not typically designed with bumper to bumper in mind. I might add that I am running Engine Ice in the radiator and that does seem to keep things cooler. The manufacturer claims that it can lower temps as much as 50degrees F.

My 07 cbr 1k has been getting up to 230+ the last few days 100+ here in southern california and surprisingly humid. Recently added water wetter to the mix helped a little but still getting 130 at red lights. I wouldn't be too concerned unless you hit 140.

that sounds normal. if it gets to/above 240, then you should start to worry.
