I don't think this engine expected to see those type of "roads".

Default F3

Hi,
I thought the same when I first saw it. I lifted the saddle and saw the F3 sticker. It was a private sale. I was a bit confused because I thought that the fuel injection only came in on the F4i in 2001 onward. I didn’t think that the F3 was made after ‘98. I rang the local Honda dealer and gave him the chassis number. He rang me back and said that it was all genuine. It was a fuel injected F3. He said that there is a lot of inaccuracies on the internet. The F3 was being produced in ‘03 in a fuel injection model. I always thought that it was clear cut :
F ‘89-90
F2 91-94
F3 95-98
F4 ‘99-00
F4i ‘01-06
apparantly not 🤔

Yeah, something really strange about that advice and I have never come across that in my 24 years of owning CBR's, the major difference between the F3 & 4 was going from the steel tubular frame and the alloy box frame (along with clocks, plastics etc and ultimately injection in the F4i!!)
Yours definitely has the alloy frame and injected engine. If you were looking for parts you would not find those listed for the F3.

apparently not 🤔
Your dealer gave you bad information, or they didn't understand the question. The date ranges you have are correct for the models. There is no fuel injected F3. Not from Honda anyway.
