Never really heard of this problem, but maybe get new foam and leather for your seat?.. Might be a bit flat and worn out..

This topic comes up a bit on this & other forums. What you have happening is 2 things.
1st off, you have you're bum sitting on vinyl, the is no air getting between you & the seat (No, farting does not count) & this causes skin irritation & sore bum on the outer layers of skin.
2nd, you're bum is compressed & along with you're thighs are being held in a static position, restricting blood flow, especially to you're backside & that is also causing you pain & the brutal numb bum.
There are a lot of options available, gel seat cover etc.
I use a tailored lambs wool seat cover (black), which addresses both problems, easy to take off if you're worried about someone nicking it , makes the seat comfortable for long hauls, but for those really long rides, take a break & get the blood flow working.

i do the classic "flap my legs outward and let the air rush in cooling the crotchal region" move.

thanks guys! thats what it feels like is a lack of blood flowing... riding off road i mostly stood up,never really caring how the seat feels. im going to look at a cover
of some sort!
i already do the flapping legs for the cooling of the nether region. haa!!

yeah im 6'2 and my height is mainly in my legs, and i have the same problem as you. i have to constantly stand up on the bike and shake my leg like theres a wasp in my jeans in order to get some blood flow back.

I'm having a local upholstery shop re-foam and re-cover my seat for $130. he is even going to raise the front a bit to keep me off the tank a little more comfortably. =)

just found a product called the butt buffer. anyone used these or heard of it?
looks pretty dorky but not feeling my hip i think is worse!

It looks like it would slide all over the place when you got into the corners, and for that amount of money you could probably have a shop re-foam your seat re-using your OEM cover. Or grab some foam from a fabric store (they stock it for chairs/couches), un-staple your seat cover, lay it in and re-staple it. =)
