Not Running Right!!!
After a slow spped off! The bike had minor cosmetic damage and the bike was off the road for 5 months until i managed to gain replacement fairings.
After repairing/ replacing damaged fairings etc, the bike was ready for the raod.
But.....................
Starts fine, Runs ok in 1st & 2nd, but in higher gears does pull and stutters, lacks power and seem to only want to do about 40mph or less.
I have had the fuel tank off and air filter out , to check the carbs but they all seem to be running fine, fuel filter is fine.
Any ideas where to go from here? :-) X

If you had the Upper Cowl (fairing) off the bike, it's not too difficult to forget to put some of the hoses back in place. There are 2 that are easily missed. They screw in right below the headlight in the small openings. They have little funnels on them. Make sure they're connected all the way back to the Air Vent Solenoid Valve. If it ran ok before, then it should run ok now I would think. Look for the simple things.
seafoam is a gas additive that helps to clean out the carbs and gas lines. make sure to check all your air hoses if one of them is not hooked up right the bike will not run the way it is meant to.also make sure that they are clean no debris inside.
Hi guys
Have tried the above
My bike does not wont to go over 30 mph since i had an off!! will rev right round out of gear and in low gear, in the hayes manual i noticed there is a speed sensor that connects to an air vent relay that operates the air vent control solinoid valve, could there be a problem with these components and how would i check them?
Please help

My sons old 98 F3 had a similar problem. ran good in the lower gears, but would bog down in 5th & 6th. Someone left off the 2 curved tubes that run from the air box to the snorkel, causing to much air & a lean condition.
