No fuel pump 95 cbr600
I am new to this. I just bought my first bike 95 cbr 600 f3. The guy said all the maintanace is up to date. The bike starts ad runs good. It doesn't have a fuel pump and I was told that wouldnt cause any harm. Should I go ahead and look for a new pump? Or just enjoy the bike for a while before putting any more money into it. I paid 1100 for the bike. Was that a decent deal? Thanks in advance.

I would ride the bike. If you are getting fuel starvation at high rpms, put the pump in.

I would check and make sure whoever said it didn't have a fuel pump actually know what they were talking about.
Check left side under seat. Sounds strange anyone would remove it but people are strange... I am a firm believer in "if it ain't broke don't fix it. |
Gravity feeding the carbs is never really a big issue and getting rid of the fuel pump
eliminates a fairly common point of failure -since the bike runs good leave it alone Welcome to the Forum btw :) - the F3 section has plenty of good people with specific advice |
Thanks for the info. Sorry if I posted in the wrong spot I am just learning how this all works. Ill leave it as is until I come across any issues.

You may have vaccume/gravity issues under a certain point 1/2 tank ? Dont be supprised if you run out with a bit of gas left

The early CBR900RR’s will function fine with the pump removed, the 600 however relies on the pump to deliver fuel at higher revs and to start the bike, I would personally retain the pump.

I have a 98 CBR600F3 and at the moment it is without fuel pump..... was eliminating a start problem and just haven't put the pump back on. Your bike will start and run without the fuel pump, however as Wrecker says you will have problems on a low tank. Also above 120 mph your carbs will dry up faster than they can be gravity fed......... I found out last night :-). You will also have to switch the tap to reserve and not forget to switch it to off when parked up. Id suggest you put one back on ...£20 on fleebay for an aftermarket one. I will also be adding a gravity fed pipe link to my break down kit under the seat in case the pump goes while out and about.
