Default New tires, now brakes are shot

I talked to two mechanics, 1 said my brakes are bad, need replaced and I should hone the rotors before putting on new brakes (even though they have not started metal on metal yet) and the other mechanic said not to worry about it, those rotors are hard as hell to warp and if there is no damage to not worry about it. Any advice you all can give?

run your ringer over the rotors and see how they feel to you. honestly if you havent run the pads metal on metal for awhile and you havent experienced any vibrating or shaking while braking when the pads were good id say that your rotors are fine. and dont pay a mechanic to do your brakes, they are super simple and it will make you feel better for working on your own bike

I was going to do the brakes myself, until I heard about the rotor thing. Just have to find a place that has them in stock. All the places here in Reno are either sold out of only have the rear and ill have to not ride for a damn week while I wait for them to be shipped in.

There is no need to replace your pads with the original Honda items, in fact there are (forgive me Mr Honda) better pads out there that you can get & will meet your particular riding style. Just remember to push the pistons back with the old pads still in, to give you the clearance you need for the new ones.
