I want to put some wider more aggresive looking tires on my f3....but im not sure what all will fit...what is the widest tire i can fit on it...one that is aggresive looking also??? any suggestions?

 

180's are supposed to fit, but you'll probably kill the handling a bit. A 120/70 will fit supposedly, but you gotta raise the front fender a little bit. IMO, stick with a 160. Good "agressive looking" tires off the top of my head, pilot powers, m3's, and qualifiers

 

+1 The 180 will fit if you remove the stock hugger but you will loose a lot of your turning capability. A 120/70 will fit up front but you need to move the fender higher just a bit and it will rub on the back but that won't hurt anything. I personally say stick with the 160 rear and try the 120/70 front. I ran that for years and loved it. The 180 will fit but you're pinching the tire so you won't get the proper contact patch.

 

I ran a 180/55 rear and 120/70 front (they were on it when I got it) but it didn't have the rear hugger and is close to chain on the left and the swingarm on the right (about a 1/4" clearance). I just bought a new set and went back to a 120/60 up front and a 160/60 rear which is the stock sizes. The rear looks just as good with the 160/60 as it did the 180/55, I just have a little more clearance now and I can get me a rear hugger.

 

yeah what i was lookin at was the 160/60/17 dunlop qualifiers for the back and 120/60/17 qualifiers for the front.. stock sizes but they are good lookin tires

 

My bike had a 170/60 rear tire when I bought it, and when it was time to switch, I put on the stock size Pirelli Diablo. I don't know if it's just psychological, but it feels a lot more flickable and better handling.

And the sad truth is that our poor old F3s don't send enough power to the rear tire to need any more rubber than a 160 width.

 

I haven't had anything other than the stock size tires on my bike, so I can't give much advice there. However, I did just put new tires on my F3 last week. Avon Viper Supersports. AV59 120/60/17 front, and AV60 160/60/17 rear. Great tires so far. The Viper Supersports are little more track-focused than the Viper Sports. Same profile, just a little stickier. So far, so good. The bike drops into the turns much better now.

Bikebandit.com had the best deals for Avon tires. Motorcycle-superstore.com is a great source for the Pirellis and Michelins.

 

I hope mine handles better now with the stock sizes than it did. it just felt like you had to "push" it into a curve but i was used to it since the 180/55 & 120/70 was on it since i got it last year. Now maybe the curves will be alot easier to handle.
