New to me, walk me through this!

Well here's hoping when i go to start it i can do so without having to screw around with that right away. I would like to get acclimated with the bike first. Changing the oil and giving it the actual inspection it needs should do that and i will feel much better working on it.
I have always turned my own wrenches, cars, quads, dirtbikes, boats whatever so I'm sure many questions will be answered and i will find my comfort.

Curious, whats a reasonable asking price for the bike? It needs a back tire and the carbs will need a basic service since it hasnt been ran since last spring / early summer. Its not perfect, has a few minor cracks in fairings from age but otherwise its fine.
Im thinking of listing it for $2800 or so.
