Default New to F3 , wait no I am new to all bikes.

Well I used to ride dirtbikes and always loved it and now I want to feel the freedom of riding a Street Bike. I was told the F3 CBR 600 is a great beginner bike and I don't mind the looks of them at all. Anything I should know about with these bikes such as problems they have? Also I have seen some F3s that have newer style fairings on them, do they make a kit so you can do this?

Welcome...F3s are great...just keep reading through all the posts here in the CBR F3 section. All good points and problems are talked about here.
You'll be able to locate the aftermarket fairings also. You can also surf ebay for plastics.

Only advise I have is...start slow, no your limits.......it's not a dirt bike. Good luck!

Yeah I know its not a dirtbike I just thought that having practice on dirbikes would give me more of an edge while learning vs someone who hasn't.

I plan on taking it very slow.

Most people say F3's are the better of the CBR's as they have more power than older version and they have carbs which is better than early injection models. The F3 has a more upright seating position than some 600's, turning circles are better than most, plus its a Honda and nearly indestructable. The change to second clunks, the clutch basket and engine sometimes rattles, which is normal. Normally goes away when the clutch is pulled in. Regulator Rectifiers go regular, this is the black piece of plastic under the rear right fairing bolted to the frame. If this goes the Bike will cut out and not start, but will bump or be able to be started with jump leads etc. Cam chain tensioner rattles, not a problem just needs a clean and retensioning.Front forks can pit easily but again this is sorted no probs. The slight ****les are nothing major and lots of people recommend these bikes for peoples first six hundred. You'll be one hundred percent happy, plus the guys on the forum are good people. Have fun and welcome to our world.

I would have to say the F3 is a great beginner bike. I would know. I just bought one and I have not dropped it once (knock on wood) and it had everything I needed to learn. Just enough power without throwing me off, and enough so I can get up and move. Great handling. Rides great and runs smooth. With all the info and parts you can get from the guys here. Just smooth ridin! Have fun!
