Default Needing some advice regarding removing Calif restrictions from my cbr600 f3

as above

American import 1995 cb600 f3, im goin to race in pre 97 championship here in Ireland

got her to a dyno to find she only running 77 bhp, put some jets in, some polishin, checked cdi and she up to 82

majority of the racing cbr600 pre 97's are running 90 bhp

discovered that californian cbr600's had an emissions restriction,
have left a set of replacement stock cams with mechanic to see will this solve the issue and give her a few more ponies

if not compression ratio may be off? and 82 as good as i get

unless someone here can suggest some other way of gettin rid calif restriction and upping the horsepower at least another 8bhp

thanks in advance

Well if I cant find out anything further on here, we will see if replacing the cams makes a difference..

A full race exhaust system would be another expensive option

Is there any chance there is something wrong with your bike? My buddy has a 2008 zzr600(same as a 2002 zx6r) And we when we race you would think the bikes are pretty much the same until we are in like 3rd or 4th gear, this is why I dont think the emissions stuff effects the power too greatly.

no, nothin wrong with bike, got a reply elsewhere that the difference between californian cbr600 f3's and ours is restricted cams, so the stock cams are goin in tomorrow and see what happens then

Ohh I thought it was just the extra evaporator or whatever... just some different plumbing for the airbox. Let me know if it feels any different after the new cams

the restrictions was definitely in the cams, new cams in made the difference

went from 77 bhp, polished carbs and jetted em
to 82 bhp
removed restricted cams and put stock ones in
up to 88bhp
fueling off now, ordered new dynojet kit, hope bike is ready on tuesday for collection, because its being loaded into a truck on wednesday to go to track at Almeria, Spain

Bhp is the same thing as hp at the crank or the wheel?
