Default NEED HELP

Ok, my bike is a 97 cbr 600. it has been layed down and I have rode it a few times with no problems. But right now it is acting up. When i pull back on the throttle the RPMs go up and stops once it hits 5K everytime. When i pull on it slower it will still go above 5K but kind of acts up around 5K. So i need to figure out what I can do to fix it or am I going to have to take it to a shop. I have taken apart the carbs and blew out the jets. still runs weird. PLEASE HELP

Maybe the choke is stuck on or the idle screw is set too high?

Well if you have already gone threw the carbs, and you are confident that all jets are clean, and that the emulsion tubes are clean too. Make sure that your CV slides are actually moving when you rev it up and not stuck in the closed position. They will act like a partial throttle plate too. Then check your spark plugs, make sure they are in good condition. Probably just good idea to change them since they aren't that much and it will rule them out. Make sure that your coil caps and coil wires are in good condition and good tension on spark plugs. Check for cracks in rubber and maybe signs of electrical arching. As rpm's raise the amount of voltage needed to fire the plug raises too! If you have a crack plug cap or wire, then it would be easier for the electricity to go threw that crack than the spark plug and you get your misfire which limits your RPM. Worse case scenario.....possible bad CDI box, computer, ECM....whatever honda calls it on their parts fiche. It may not be advancing the spark as RPM's raise and that will act like a huge limiter too! Only way to check it is to run it with a timing light and on the rotor plate exposed to see if timing is advancing. These are the things i would check and in that order mostly! Good Luck
