I think your asking if it's a manual...yes it's the APE manual CCT

I was told to warm up the engine before installing it, works like a charm

Melo, it's all about the right tool for the job! I've worked on enough hot rods that I don't even bother trying stuff like you did anymore, haha.

I would seriously recommend everyone who owns a jap bike to go and pick up a 80-or-so-piece Stanely mechanics tool set at WalMart for $40. Spend another $10 on extensions for each socket drive and you'll rarely be cussing stuff anymore because you can't reach it.

Shawn, I missed your post, GOOD JOB MAN!

Isn't it creepy and exhilirating at the same time how something so little can make such a difference? And yes, it's a sweet, simple little fix for $50.

Glad to hear it sounds like it should, have fun with it and now you don't have to worry about blastin' that throttle and hearing the dreaded noise it used to make afterwards!

i just bought a tube of copper gasket maker, used like nothing to make the gasket. No idea what the difference in manual to stock CCT as it's the first time I've done it. The CCT keeps the cam chian tight while the engines runs faster the engine goes the more it tightens the chain slower the engine it keeps the chain tight. After time the spring wears out and that's why we get the marble sound.

The tips i was told is warm up the engine first than remove the stock CCT and replace with the APE manual one, tighten the bolt by hand until you feel resistance than start the bike. adjust what's needed and tighten the nut.

I have read the thread and it sounds like the same problem I am having. You recomend going with an aftermarket part?
