Since iv owned my CBR iv always had a loud click as the front brake engages, even after fitting new tapered head bearings...

I also noticed my callipers have a lot of movement after being torqued up, I figured they are floatings calipers and the click is just them jolting forwards when the pads grab the discs??

Think iv found the culprit, if I grab my discs and pull them back and forth one moves and click and the other is sturdy, should I replace the one with movement or will it be fine??

 

Any problem with the brakes is unsafe. Fix it before you ride another inch.

Is the movement where it bolts to the wheel? Loose or incorrect bolts?

 

Find what the torque value is supposed to be on the attachment bolts, stick a torque wrench on each bolt and tighten them in a crisscross pattern. It sounds like one disc is loose.

Check both sides. If one side is loose the other might be getting close to being that way.

 

Where the disc actually bolts to the wheel is perfectly fine and torqued up, its the actual floating half of the disc that moves, the outer ring! Not the actual rotor! I have read up on it and apparently its not much of a problem

 

Replace the rotors. You should not be able to movve it there by hand.
