I'm new to riding... took an MSF course a couple weeks ago and finally had the 97 F3 I bought delivered 2 nights ago. I rode it around in a parking lot for a while to get used to it and then took it out to get some gas and rode around all night. I'm absolutely in love with it, the exhaust sounds great- the controls feel amazing (compared to the little nighthawk) and the acceleration/braking/turning is incredible- unlike anything i've ever experienced...

I may get the wheels painted yellow, but I kinda like them in black... Before the bike was delivered I was planning on swapping exhausts but the V&H has grown on me so I'll keep it. Also the throttle is sticking a little so I need to lube that up before getting it inspected.

Hey, welcome to the forum. That's a great looking bike (if we do say so ourselves) you've got. Congratulations, I'm sure you're going to love riding it. The yellow wheels look great when they're clean, but it doesn't take long before the black specks start showing up. There's something to be said for black wheels.

 

The bike looks great!! It looks bran new!! Where did find a bike in such great condition? How many miles are on it? By the way, a word of advise about the rims. I would recomend keeping the rims black because you won't have to clean them as often. If you're like me and ride the thing, you're going to want the black rims. It'll hide the fling from the chain lube better than any other color out there.

 

Yeah I think i'll relocate the money for powdercoating the wheels to something else, like gear or parts or track days.

The bike has 22k miles, but the motor was rebuilt about 1500 miles ago with a vavle job (new valves and seals), piston kit, and fresh gaskets. The bodywork isn't perfect, but I didn't want a perfect bike for my first bike...
