Hey guys. I'm new to the forum. I just bought a 98 F3 with 9k miles on it and was just wondering if I got a deal or got shafted. I paid just shy of 4k. What do you guys think? It's in what I would call good condition. I'm already looking for parts to get lol. I'm used to my 89 gsxr750 which is kind of a lost cause beings an exhaust alone for it is worth more than the bike is.

That looks a really nice F3 to me :-) ... I am biased to these bikes though ... these last of the steeel framed CBRs were simply the best and so well sorted ... I ahve no idea on pricing in your country .. my own is worth about £2000 here in the UK .. I have been told it could be more because of it's immaculate condition ..you also have very low miles like me and peopel actively seek out low miles ... most CBRs will rack up very high mileages though without problems especially if serviced properly ... I have heard of despatch riders in London getting over 100K miles out of a CBR and still going strong ... I beleive regular and good quality oil changes are everything :-)

Oooh, close to $4000 is kinda on the high side of things, but it is a beautiful bike. I love that color scheme. Around my area, you see a lot of them going for low 3k to high 2k. Diffrent areas have diffrent prices. With the low mileage, I'd imagine that maintanace should be low so that makes the price more reputable.

4k looks kinda high, but it is the beginning of the season so you have to take that into consideration. Bikes are more expensive now. I paid 2500 for my mint 98 f3 with 11000 on it.

 

4k could have gotten you a decent 01-03 F4i
