Jetting questions...

I'm planning on doin some heavy work on my bike in the next few weeks and i was curious, if i intend on cleaning my carb's might i go ahead and put a jet kit in? figured while im in up to my elbow's might as well right? ive read a couple of bad things about jet kit's though so it kinda makes me a bit concerned. Good jet kits' bad jet kits? will i have to do some drilling to install the kits? is it the kind of thing im gunna need some dyno tuning afterwards? or just a good carb sync tool? any personal experiences? and is it just better to leave it stock? gas mileage? will i have to worry about the engine life? i appreciate the help you guy's have been a great in the past[sm=hail.gif]

RE: Jetting questions...

OK BUD I JUST HAD MINE DYNO TUNED AND I HAVE THE 520 CONVERSION ON IT AND IT FAST!!!!! IF THERE IS A SHOP THAT DYNO TUNES IN UR TOWN JUST SPEND THE EXTRA MONEY AND GET IT DONE ALL AT ONCE U WONT BE LET DOWN. AND THERE SHOULD BE NO DRILLING INVOLVED, I HELP DYNO TUNE MY OWN BIKE AND IT WAS EASY, JUST ALOT OF TAKING OUT THE CARBS BUT NOT BAD AND U MAY HAVE TO ADJUST UR NEEDLES LIKE I DID. AND ALSO WAY IT IS A GOOD IDEA U GET IT TUNED IS THAT U WANT THE AIR/FUEL MIXTURE PERFECT FOR MAXIUM PERFORMANCE.

with just a stage 1 you shouldnt "need" to get it dyno tuned but depepnd on other wor you might have done already if you have the time and money go for it.

"oldbike" pls dont use all caps really annoying , thanks :)

Factory Pro's jet kit doesn't require drilling....and from my understanding, you can only do so much tuning on the dyno...

RE: Jetting questions...

if i remember correctly, it's usually stage 3 and above kits that need to be tapped and drilled... I'm getting my 96 f3 jetted in a week or 2 and I think i'm going stage 2 from dynojet... and you shouldn't HAVE to get it tuned, but if it were me, I'd throw a K&N on it and get it tuned anyways.
