It will work with a cable tie but it's better to drill the two extra wholes and bolt it with two bolts and nuts to the frame because the frame acts as a big heat sink to disperse the heat generated by the regulator, so it will just last longer. Some of the regulators also use the body as the ground connection (Don't know about the GSXR one)
