Idle screw fell out.
 
Where does one put it back?

we have spent some time looking and we are down to the carbs. but we cant find any trace of where it might go..anyone have an idea?? pictures are good.

Heh, I'm not taking mine apart to take pics for you! I'll check the manual, in the meantime...

How the hell does the idle screw, "fall out?" Did you notice any difference in idling, sputtering, anything? They are a PITA to get back in if they're anything like an F4i. Never done it on an F3 but you should be able to see where it goes. Good lighting goes a long way...

Well as it happens I've got mine taken off the bike and took some photo's of them.This is from the under side of the carbs.

This is from the Cylinder Head side. I hope they help you locate where it goes. If you can get a mirror in there, it would probably help.

wow..thanks a ton..i was completely over looking it, its not my bike, its my friends, and he called me yesterday for some help and we played with it for an hour or so..never got the carbs off..not sure if we will have to take them off to put it back in or not..but atleast i have an idea on where it goes.. thanks!

You won't have to take the carbs off, but a set of long hemostats (roach clips) would be ideal.

place the tube between two fingers guide it in and spin the knob i have long skinny fingers this worked for me twice . use one hand as a guide the other to turn it in place . remove the tank gl its a biotch

lol kidcrenshaw, i like the terminology there for the hemostat. I'm super curious how the idle screw could fall out though?

its only a couple turnsof adjustment sometimes you may go a little over and it comes out .

i dont know..all of my friends call me when there bike needs fixing, i would start charging..but i would have to give you guys some comission:) i got it in and running perfectly in 20 minutes, ill put new tires on it tomorrow..just cause i love doing this stuff..and when my fairings get here for my 03 f4i..i will be busy once again:D

tomorrow is saposed to be 65 degrees.. and i have no headlight :(
so i will watch all of my friends go riding..while i sit at home and tinker with my bike all day [&o]
