I read the thread called "97 plastics" a lil ways down and here is my problem.


****!!! I just ordered parts for my bike. I needed a whole New Tail and readin this thread made me check and see if I had 2 of the same TAILS off the SAME YEAR!..

BUT NOW I CHECK and I find I got one side of my tail is off of a ****en 96 and the other ****en on is off of a 98!!!!!! ****!!! And I was jsut about to drop it off an dget painted!!!!


DOES anybody want to trade tail a piece? I have a 98 left tail piece and I need a 96 one! one that has the room for the SQUARE TAILLIGHT... ANYBODY!

OR what about this..... Will the center back tail peice ( the little square piece )work with a 98 side tail and a 96 tail... I relizee that the tailight might not slide right in but what if I shave it down and put my flugh mounts in the gap?? Do u see what Iam talkin about?

The 98 has a sharper tail.. Like that triangle shape on the inside of where the tailight goes,... what if I modify my 96 to have that same triangle by shaving it in? I have a 96 taillight (The rectangle one... So obviously there will be a little triangle gap. What I was thinking aboutdoing is placing my flughmounts in the holes some how, or mount them so they kinda cover the holes?

Does anybody see what iam talkin about please let me know...
