help needed
Hi guys this might sound stupid but when i am out on my bike for a short time she rides great, but then after a while it seems to pull me towards the center line of the road and all i seem to do is fight with it to get it back over to where i want her, this has only just started to happen and i just wondered if any of you guys have had the same problems ??
I can think of a few things it might be, however none would have anything to do with the amount of time you spend riding. The front forks could be slightly twisted in the tripple trees (from an accident). The tires could be low on air pressure or worn out. Roads are naturally crowned and can cause you to have to apply slight pressure to one side or the other depending on the angle of the road.
If you find yourself on an empty straight road where you can see a long ways ahead including any side streets, what happens if you cross the center line and ride on the left (naturally I'm only suggesting that you do this just for a moment to see if anything is different) ?

A good (but dangerous at high speed) check it get rolling on a straight road with no one around and kinda lift your hands barely off the handlebars. If they start to wobble/whip side to side you defiantly have a problem. But check for flat spots first like some others said. Good luck!
It could be that your rear tire is out of alignment. That too wouldn't just crop up after it warmed up. A sure sign of improper alignment is unusual wear on the sides of the teeth of the rear sprocket. You may need a mirror to be able to see the inside edge of the rear sprocket teeth. The chain should track evenly on the sprocket. If it tends to stay mostly to one side or the other, then this could be an indication of an alignment issue.
So, when you look at the sprocket teeth, what are you looking for ? If the sides of the teeth are highly polished more so on one side than the other. They should be worn evenly on both sides if the wheel and chain are tracking true. The wheel axle adjusters to me are not accurate enough for a good alignment. I use the "String" method of aligning the rear wheel. Do search on the Internet if you're interested in this method. No expensive tools needed.
