Ok everyone.
I have two pretty straight forward questions regarding both the mounting and wiring of the Headlight/headlamp.

First of all, does the headlight housing screw into the fairing or into the fairing cage?
I don't have stock front fairings yet so I'm trying to figure this out.
On my fairing cage, I noticed two tabs were broken off but I have no idea what they were for (PO had aftermarket walmart lights wired to it).

As for the wiring, as mentioned above, the PO had two Walmart fog lights wired in parallel to act as the headlamps.
On the back of the stock bulb, there are three prongs.
Can someone tell me which one is ground, lowbeam positive, and then highbeam positive? I'm guessing that's how the contacts work but I could be wrong.

None of th 50+ users who viewed the thread don't know if the headlamp mounts to the upper fairings or fairing stay/bracket?

it might be in the shop manual, im not sure tho. follow one of the links here. Sorry i dont have an answer but its prob worth a look.

 

fairing cage = fairing stay?

The headlight is mounted, with 4 screws to the upper-center fairing which also brings the two upper fairings together.

This is the piece I'm talking about

In addition to the four screws on the upper center, there are two gromet things on the fairing stay that the headlight slides into.

oh and, for the wiring...I would just pickup a multimeter and test each lead.
