handle bars shake real bad
evening all
im back again for ur knowlegde front tyre was really bold on the right hand side so replaced the front tyre and got the wheel rebalance since then when im riding n holding on with one hand the handle bars vibrate really bad and shake a little if i let go of handle bars at around 30mph ( i now i shouldnt let go of them silly rider ) the handle bar shake and wobble really bad so i have to hold on to them again before i fall off this never happened before would always steer straight but slightly to the left would have to lean on the right of the bike to keep on the straight and narrow so after 5 days of riding i decided this aint right took the bike back to the shop where i got the tyre fitted and balanced and asked them to check it out see why this has accrued after getting a new wheel and wheel balanced ive picked it back up the engineer has informed me that the wheel is perfectly aligned and the bearing on the wheels are in good working order he informed me that he check the camber of the bike and had told me that the bike is 1 inch out of aligned.. he informed me that i may need to get the forks and yoke checked out and see if they are straight and true..... i wanted to know if there was any body who could inform me if there is any alternatives to get the forks and yoke straighened if that the issue could cost me sum of 200+.... any advice is welcome thanks jamie |
Do you have a straight edge of steel to check to see if the fork is bent?
|
sounds like you may have some bent forks, the fact you said it would always steer to the left kinda gives it away. ive seen complete sets of forks go on ebay for around 200-250 . To be honest unless i had someone i REALLY trusted to do it i wouldnt bother trying to straighten a bent fork on any bike. And why was just the right side of the tyre bald? i would check those forks first to see if they are straight if they are you may have a frame bend problem which may be easier to fix than the forks and good frame person can bend an inch of frame pretty accuractly. It might be a good piece of info to know which way that inch was out on the bike too.
