got a ? about my new baby
ok i finally got my bike! i dont know too much about bikes thats y i had my machanic come with to buy the bike. its a 1996 cbr f3 anyways wen we got there the guys started it up for us (it took a couple trys) but my machanic said thats normal because it was cold. anyways my question is im having a little trouble starting it. im a little timid and i dont want to hurt it so after a couple trys i stop. could i hurt it if i keep trying? and i have to have the choke up clutch down and do i have to give it a lil gas? also do i have to have the kick stand up? please for give me for the dumb questions but im new! and i dont want to hurt my baby.

put the kickstand down, turn the choke on, leave the clutch alone and yes you can give it some gas.. not too much or you may flood it. give it maybe 4-5 cranks before stopping.

All bikes have a different starting ritual, so you will figure it out. One mine, full choke, I leave the petrol off till after it starts & I don't touch the throttle till the revs pick up.
One clue I'll give you though, a lot of people get into the habit of blipping the throttle, even before they stick the key in the ignition. Don't touch it till you start your bike
