Default Good price for a bike? PICS**

Hi guys i was wondering what a good price to sell a 1996 honda cbr 600 f3 with 16500 miles on it, it runes fine and i just put in 800 for a new back tire, and whole new electrical systems and insppection and registration, i am in the upstate ny area, and was wondering what a good asking price would be, it has a sratch in the gas tank, and the tail fairings are about 75%, it has a 2 bros exhaust and it runs perfect. here a pic and others are on my photobucket account:http://s266.photobucket.com/albums/ii254/RM629967/ thanks guys

A "scratch" in the gas tank? Come on now.

I can tell you right now your description doesn't even come close to the pics I'm looking at so, as a buyer,I'd wonder how the thing actually runs.

Don't be offended but I'd give you no more than 1000 bux and, if you want, I'll explain exactlywhy.

Bergs is right on the money. I think only a stunter would consider purchasing this. It clearly hasn't been taken care of, probably a lot of skeletons in the closet.

Hey mate, 600 F3 around that year in avg condition sells around $1,500 - $2,000 US, but if you want to get top dollar I hope you don't mind if I offer a bit of CONSTRUCTIVE criticism for ya:

1.) Clean the bike up before you take photos, take them outside in the daylight in a more open area so you can see the whole bike.
2.) Be up front about any work that needs to be done - that looks like more than a scratch on the gas tank. If it's been dropped, say so, you're more likely to sell it if a buyer thinks you're honest as opposed to trying to hide something and being concerned there's other things you're not telling them about.
3.) If the machine isn't running really smooth, have it serviced if you haven't had on in a while - you can probably recoup some of the service costs in the sale price if you keep the service receipt and include it with the sale - makes for a more confident purchase.

I sold my 1996 YZF 600R a few years ago for about $6,000CDN because it was clean and serviced, I think it was top dollar at that time and I only got that money for keeping a presentable machine.

Hope this helps ya out mate!

I picked up a 96 that was dropped in the left side that looked better condition than that, plus he gave me new fairings for the bike. I paid $1500, I wanted to custom paint the bike anyhow so it was a good deal. Other than that bike is mint. Id say $1000-$1300 is what you would get for that bike. If you know how to do alot on the bike poss paint the bike, strip it down give it a good cleaning(I have about 40hs so far just cleaning each part and polishing them), polished parts make it look appealing(but since everything is not polishable toss in the brushed allumin look to give it some contrast.), new chain n sprockets are appealing, the first thing I look at to judge a bike(yours look beat). Also your rims look a bit beat, maybe repaint them or polish the lip?) Did you paint the fairing with spray paint??? Look at the service piece I can see some white coming through possible chipping? I mean I see bikes like these goin for as much as $1900-2400 that are mint n have some custom parts on them. So if you have the time you can get some more money out of it. Lets just hope that motor wasn't neglected [&o].

I have anF2 that I'd like to upgrade from at some point and if I was looking at that bike i would pass it right by. For all the reasons listed above and more. Looks like the front fender isn't even attached to the bike and that "scratch" looks like a large dent that was never repaired and has started to rust. The plastics appear to have been painted and because it has the sliders i have to wonder how much it was stunted. (and the sliders look to have actually been used)

well...i can see some oil/grease all over it, the chain is rusty, theres oil on the stator cover hinting that its leaking at least oil. There is 1 big dent and many more rust spots on the gas tank, it has been laid down, or has been in a bad wreck....

id say $1300 if you clean it up nicely, fix the leaks.

yaeh the bike had been dropped, i guess when posting on the f3 forum i need to be really specific, the plastics were spray painted, and the gas tank has the dent from being dropped, the bike runs just fine its just exterior that is not bat its best, mosty platsics and the gas tank, i guess the best bet would be ebay, maybe asking 1200 for the bike, ive got recipts and video of it riding if anyone is intrested
